We went on a trick-or-treating marathon tonight. We hit Sharon's neighborhood, then met cousins Lauren and Sam at Cooper Estates and then headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house. By the time we got home, we had a very tired Darth Vader and Princess Leia. Kate kept her Leia buns on all evening and I think they kept her ears quite warm! I didn't get very many great pictures because our camera's batteries ran out. Here's what we got....
This is one of the pictures we had taken last weekend at Phelps Grove Park. My friend Melody and her husband did them. She sent me a sneak peek of the CD today. I actually think it's pretty cute!!
And apparently, it pours Scooby Snacks! This evening, Matt and I were discussing the non-working status of the DVD player, and the wireless internet, and the long list of "needs repaired" items from our mechanic that we received today. If it's not one thing it is another. When we turned around to see what Kate was doing, we noticed that she had decided to fix her own dinner. What a responsible little girl. Unfortunately, I don't think she had items from each food group represented for a healthy meal. She opted for a big pile of Scooby Snacks. Needless to say, after I took the picture, I removed the snacks and helped her make a better choice. Kate's always handy to have around for some comic relief!!!
P.S. Matt fixed the DVD player and the wireless internet. We're still discussing the car!!
After we got home from Trunk or Treat, we carved our own pumpkin. Luke dove right in to pulling out the pumpkin guts. Kate took a while to warm up but then got right into it. Daddy is the most awesome pumpkin carver and made a very cool Star Wars pumpkin to match our costume theme this year.
This evening we went to Trunk or Treat at KingsWay. Luke dressed in his Darth Vader suit but Kate opted out of the costume for the night. Instead, she wore an adorable Halloween dress. We're saving the princess Leia costume for Friday.
Luke found a fellow Darth Vader to pose with.
There were lots of cool pumpkins. The two small ones were done by cousins Lauren and Sam. They won for cutest pumpkin. The other one was a cheeseburger which looked like the most delicious pumpkin!!
After eating pizza and playing games we headed outside to Trunk or Treat. There were some spookily decorated cars. Luke thought they were awesome, Kate wasn't too sure. But she was good to say "Tick o Teat" and "tank you" to all of the candygivers.
After collecting all of the treats, we got a picture of our crew: Sam, Luke, Kate, Lauren, and Madison.
Halloween is getting closer and we're getting into the Halloween spirit! Luke and Kate felt like posing for some pictures tonight. Kate was more into the posing than Luke however. Grandma (or as Kate calls her, Ba-maw) is going to be helping us adjust their costumes to fit them. I'm starting to think Luke should have been John Wayne instead of Darth Vader because Kate now calls him "Duke".
Tonight our friends, Jason and Shelly came over for dinner along with their adorable daughter Kayley. Luke and Kayley spent some quality time together talking and playing. Jason even talked Luke into giving her a kiss!!
As you can see, I wasn't kidding about these kids being sick! Here is Kate having her breathing treatment before bed. Not her favorite thing to do, I might add.
Part of the nightly routine since Luke was a baby is for Daddy to Lotion Them Up!! He has a little song that he sings as he puts lotion on "their legs, their legs, their arms, their arms, their belly, their belly, and their back, their back" after their bath. Since we've added Kate, Matt has invented the double lotion where he lotions them both at the same time and then they jump on Luke's bed.
Tonight in the hub bub of cleaning and straightening up, I suddenly realized Kate was very busy saying something over and over again. I finally looked over and she was playing with her doll and saying "Low-she Up" as she pretended to put baby lotion on her doll before bed. It was hilarious!
P.S. Ignore the dirty floor...I'll clean that tomorrow!!
I finally clicked a few pictures tonight of the kids before they went to bed. Kate had her third haircut tonight. As always, I think she's pretty darn cute!!
Here is our tall, thin young man reading books before bed!
